Early morning pick up from your beach hotel for a 3hrs drive to the Tsavo East National Park. This is the largest National park in Kenya covering 20807 km2. The Eastern part of the park covers 13747 km2 and is home to the famous Red Elephants. They derive their name from the color of their skin which is as a result of the red soil of the park that they wash themselves with and eventually turn red. Arrival at the Buchuma gate around 0900hrs and begin the game drive straight away. The drive will take you to Aruba Dam where most of the animals converge to quench their thirst. In Tsavo East you are sure of seeing variety of animal species and bird life. The animals likely to see are lions, leopards, elephants, zebras, giraffes, antelopes, hyenas, warthogs, buffaloes, cheetahs among others. The bird species likely to view are eagles, hawks, weavers, secretary birds among others. Proceed with the game drive to lunch time and head to a lodge within the park for your sumptuous lunch in a restaurant overlooking a water hole and the plains of Tsavo spotted with wild animals. After lunch proceed for the afternoon game drive on your way out of the park. Leave the park at around 1500hrs for your return trip to your Beach hotel.
